About the Event
1st composition- Pushpanjali and Dhyana Shlokam choreographed by Shri Renjith Choorakkad
This invocatory composition embarks the auspicious beginning with offering flowers to the God,Guru and the audience followed by the Dhyana Shlokam dedicated to Lord Shiva in his form as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. It signifies that Shiva’s dance embodies the entire universe, his speech encompasses all forms of expression, and his adornments are the celestial elements.
• 2nd composition- Shiva Panchakshara Stuti
"Shiva Panchakshara Stuti" written by Shri Adishankaracharya is a hymn sung in praise of lord shiva as 5 syllables of 'NA MA SHI VA YA'.
This particular choreography has been set by Acharya Shri Renjith Choorakkad who have re-looked the raga arrangement with the help of music composer Karthik Raveendran.
• 3rd composition - Devi Sabdam ; Music set by Kuldeep m pai and Dance set by Shri Renjith Choorakkad
This sabdam unfolds the different forms of devi as Parvati-the consort of shiva,Narayani- the sister of Vishnu; kali -the fierce protector against evil and the compassionate mother nuturing the whole live.
• 4th composition- Devi brova samayamide ; Keertanam in Chintamani Ragam; Music Composition by Shyama Shastri; Dance set by Shri Renjith Choorakkad
Here the devotee says, “Oh Devi! This indeed is the opportune moment to protect me. O Sankari! Come very quickly and show mercy by relieving my distress. Don’t You have compassion towards me? Am I not your devotee? O kalyani, resident of Kanchipuram! Is it very burdensome? Please listen. This indeed is THE moment to protect me. Come this very minute and shower your mercy to relieve my pain.
• 5th composition- Nāgaswarāvali Thillana ; music set by Veenai B. Kannan choreographed by Shanta Dhananjayan and CP Satyajit
This thillana set rhymically along with the fluidity of the melody. The sahityam praises Devi as Shankari,Shambhavi,Varahi and the beautiful one who graces everyone with her blessings.
