About the Event
On this auspicious Maha Shivratri day let's celebrate the cosmic dancer. The dancer expresses through the art the praise of the lord who's an embodiment of the five elements of nature.
The evening opens with the vibrant Nandi Chol. A traditional piece in which the Nandi - the scared bull, his means of transportation, and his most ardent worshiper plays the syllable to which the lord dances.
The main piece chosen for the evening is the most popular and celebrated varnam of the tanjore quartet. Mohamana en meedhu - the heroine who's in full adoration of the lord asks him why does he not acknowledge her devotion and love for him. In this the artist ponders over the different aspects and attributes of Lord Siva.
